Kinew lines up support, commits to gender balance goal

NDP leadership candidate Wab Kinew received several high-profile endorsements Tuesday while announcing a commitment to achieve gender balance in future NDP caucuses.

At a news conference on the west lawn of the Legislative Building, Kinew was joined by former MP, Winnipeg mayoral candidate and provincial cabinet minister Judy Wasylicia-Leis, former cabinet minister and St. Vital MLA Nancy Allan, activist Michelle McHale and other party stalwarts. Not in attendance but listed as a supporter in a news release was former deputy premier Muriel Smith.
